Exhibit Details
A vibrant, innovative art education program featuring primarily young professionals in visual arts, music, drama, literature, and dance was an active part of the cultural scene in Green Bay from 1966-1969. Called Operation Area Arts, the program attracted a talented core of teachers who, during the years after the project ended in 1969 through 2009, can claim great success and recognition both regionally and nationally. This exhibition, focusing on the visual arts, brings together artworks produced by OAA teachers and one especially successful student from forty years ago to today; photographs, including one photo of the “artmobile;” stories and DVDs; and updates on the achievements of the participants.
